We combine skilled hands, healthy-hair practices and personal attention to create protective styles that help every client feel confident.
It started with a single chair, a set of hands, and a passion for helping women feel confident in their hair. What began as braiding for friends and family grew into a full-service studio built one client, one style, one referral at a time. Today, we serve a growing community of clients who trust us with more than just their hair, they trust us with how they show up in the world.
With over 17 years of combined experience, our team specializes in a wide range of textures and styles, from classic box braids to intricate goddess styles and protective looks for kids. We stay current with trends while never losing sight of the fundamentals: healthy hair, proper tension, and techniques that protect your scalp and edges.
Every client is different: different hair type, different lifestyle, different goals. Before any style begins, we take time to understand what you need, whether that's low-maintenance protective styling, a special-occasion look, or ongoing care for growing hair.

Contact and appointment information is used only to respond to inquiries, manage bookings and provide salon services. MKJ does not sell your personal information.
POLICIES
All appointments must be booked in advance through our online booking system, by phone, or by text. A valid contact number is required to confirm your booking.
A non-refundable deposit is required to secure all appointments. The deposit will be applied toward the total cost of your service. Failure to pay the deposit may result in cancellation of your appointment.
Clients must cancel or reschedule at least 24 hours before their scheduled appointment. Cancellations made less than 24 hours in advance, or missed appointments ("no-shows"), will result in forfeiture of the deposit.
Clients arriving more than 15 minutes late may be asked to reschedule, and the deposit may be forfeited. Please arrive on time or contact us as soon as possible if you're running late.
If you are supplying your own hair, please ensure it is the correct type, length, and quantity as discussed at booking. We are not responsible for delays or style adjustments caused by insufficient or incorrect hair.
All prices listed are starting prices and may vary based on hair length, thickness, density, and style complexity. Final pricing will be confirmed at your appointment before service begins.
Please inform us of any scalp conditions, allergies, or sensitivities prior to your appointment. We reserve the right to decline service if a condition may be aggravated by the requested style.
Due to the nature of our services, we do not offer refunds once a service has been completed. If you are unsatisfied with your style, please contact us within 48 hours so we can address the issue.
We may photograph or video completed styles for portfolio and marketing purposes. Please let us know at booking if you'd prefer not to be photographed.
We reserve the right to update these Terms & Conditions at any time. Continued use of our services constitutes acceptance of the current terms.
